BFCM 2025: #7 – Cut the Clutter, Boost Performance

This week, we’re keeping it clean, clutter-free, and conversion-ready - especially when it comes to SMS. A few small tweaks can go a long way toward improving deliverability, trimming costs, and boosting results.

Character Count = Cost

SMS messages are short for a reason — and going over the limit can result in 2–3-part messages (and higher costs) without you realizing. Here’s what to watch for:

  • Emojis count as extra characters

  • Keep copy concise and action-oriented

  • Skip unnecessary formatting and line breaks

Pro Tip: If your message needs to be longer - consider sending an MMS instead. One MMS can include more characters plus an image, and it may be more cost-effective than multiple SMS parts.

CTA Structure = Clarity

Whether it’s in a message or a popup, your CTA should be impossible to miss — and easy to follow through.

1. In Your SMS Campaigns

Use short, action-driven CTAs that tell your customer exactly what to do next. Good examples include: Shop Now; Claim Code.  Avoid multiple CTAs in one message — the more focused the path, the better the conversion.

2. In Your Popups (Success Step CTA)
