What is OneClick?

OneClick Opt-in is Recart’s revolutionary feature that enables a one-click subscription experience for SMS and email lists. By removing the need for typing, OneClick helps increase subscriber conversions and offers users a faster, simpler sign-up process.

Benefits at a Glance:

  • Higher Conversion Rates: Increase opt-in rates by making the process easier.
  • Streamlined Experience: Users only need to click once to subscribe, no typing required.
  • Faster Sign-ups: Complete sign-ups in seconds.

How OneClick Works

It works through the Recart Audience Network (RAN): a network of Recart-powered stores that recognize subscribers across participating sites. When a known visitor lands on your store, Recart identifies them and serves the OneClick Popup instead of the standard Welcome Popup.

The OneClick Popup relies on two things working together: Network Opt-in and visitor identification.

  1. A visitor subscribes at any Recart-powered store and consents to join the Recart Audience Network — their details are stored in the network.
  2. When that same visitor arrives at your store, Recart identifies them using fingerprinting.
  3. If they're recognized, they're shown your OneClick Popup instead of your Welcome Popup.
  4. Their phone number and email are pre-filled. They verify their identity and confirm with one tap.

If a visitor is not recognized by the network, they are automatically shown your standard Welcome Popup instead.

Why Use OneClick?

OneClick provides a seamless experience that users love. With no repeated typing or forms, it minimizes effort and maximizes convenience. This frictionless approach translates into higher subscription rates and an improved user experience.

Example Scenario:

A customer subscribes at Store A. Weeks later, they visit Store B, which also uses Recart’s OneClick. With one click, they subscribe again—no need to re-enter details.

The OneClick Popup Experience

The OneClick Popup has four steps, displayed on both desktop and mobile:

Step What the visitor sees
Teaser Your offer headline and a "YES, PLEASE" / "NO, THANKS" choice
Verification A code is sent to their known phone number to confirm identity
Opt-in Their phone number and email are pre-filled — one tap on Confirm to subscribe
Success Confirmation message, discount code (optional), and a "GO SHOPPING" button

On the Opt-in step, visitors can also:

  • Click Change to update their pre-filled email address
  • Click "This isn't me" on the Verification step to exit OneClick and start the standard opt-in flow from scratch

Before You Get Started

Availability: The OneClick Popup is only available for stores targeting US-based visitors. Geographic targeting outside the United States is not supported for this popup type.

Important: You must always have both a OneClick Popup and an active Welcome Popup running at the same time.

How to Create a OneClick Popup

  1. Go to Opt-in Tools and click Create New.
  2. In the creation modal, select OneClick Popup.
  3. A simplified setup wizard opens — choose a design from your previously used templates to apply existing styling.
  4. Edit the copy and offer details on each step (Teaser, Verification, Opt-in, Success).
  5. In Settings, select your active Welcome Popup as the fallback for "This isn't me" clicks.
  6. Set your targeting rules under Pages if needed. Note that the OneClick Popup only supports United States as a geographic target — other regions are not available for this popup type.
  7. Click Save and set the popup to Active.

These streamlined steps allow you to quickly create high-converting OneClick popups that use Recart’s Audience Network data to prefill subscriber details and eliminate the need for typing.

Important Tip:

To ensure a smooth subscriber experience, make sure you always have both a OneClick popup and a regular Welcome popup active at the same time.

  • If a visitor clicks “This isn’t me” on the OneClick popup, they will automatically be shown your active Welcome popup to start the opt-in process from scratch.
  • ⚠️ If no standard Welcome popup is active, the visitor will not see any opt-in option and will be redirected back to your site without subscribing.

Best Practices

  • Required: Keep an active Welcome Popup running alongside your OneClick Popup at all times — without it, unrecognized visitors and "This isn't me" clicks have nowhere to go.
  • Required: Enable Network Opt-in on your account before activating a OneClick Popup.
  • Recommended: Match your OneClick Popup offer to your Welcome Popup offer — visitors may see both over time.
  • Recommended: Use URL targeting rules if you're running multiple popups to avoid conflicts.
  • Avoid: Activating a OneClick Popup without setting a fallback — visitors who click "This isn't me" will leave without subscribing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is OneClick compliant with data privacy regulations?

Yes. OneClick is designed with user consent and privacy in line with data protection standards.

Q: What if a user is not recognized?

If unrecognized, users will see the standard opt-in form.

Q:  What happens when a user clicks “This isn’t me”?

When a user clicks the “This isn’t me” button on the OneClick popup, they will be served a standard Welcome Popup instead. This action ensures they can opt in again with new details while removing their prior association with the Recart Audience Network. Remember, you need to have both a OneClick popup and a regular Welcome popup active at the same time so that the user can subscribe from scratch if they click “This isn’t me”.
