## Expiring Discount Codes

Create expiring unique discount codes in Recart, seamlessly synced between popups and Welcome Flows.

### What are expiring discount codes

An **expiring discount code** is a unique, one-time code that stays valid for a set duration (minutes, hours, or days). In Recart:

* The code is generated **after a successful opt-in**
* It is displayed on the **popup success step**
* The same code is passed into the **linked Welcome Flow**
* The code is also synced to **Klaviyo** and connected SMS platforms

### Why this matters

* **One code across popup and SMS.** No mismatch between what shoppers see and what they receive later.
* **Urgency built in** with an optional countdown timer on the popup.
* **Less manual work.** Discounts are created and managed directly in Recart and synced to Shopify.

### How it works

1. Visitor opts in via your popup
2. Recart generates a unique or expiring unique code
3. The code is displayed on the popup success step (click to copy, auto-applied at checkout)
4. The same code is passed into your Welcome Flow so your first SMS can reference it

![Creating an expiring discount in Recart](https://791907572-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fg9BL9jmM4rBr3YI5Ck5J%2Fuploads%2FIBIHiZZHDmMgn16VloIz%2Fimg-expiring-discount-codes-1.png?alt=media)

### Good to know

* Expiring unique discounts require a popup
* Only one expiring discount per Welcome Flow
* The popup and Welcome Flow should use the same code, a mismatch triggers a warning
* Not available for 2-step SMS reply popups
* Countdown timers are available only for expiring discounts

## A/B Testing Just Got Easier to Track

We have upgraded the way you access and analyze your popup experiments. You can now view all your **popup A/B tests in one place**, right from the new **Popup A/B Tests** tab inside the Recart dashboard. No more digging through filters, no more guesswork, just clean, visual results where you need them.

### Why this matters

Whether you are testing a 10% vs 20% offer or comparing opt-in flows, A/B testing helps you find out what actually works. Until now, analyzing those results in Recart meant jumping between filters and exports. That changes today.

### What is new

* **Dedicated A/B testing tab.** Find all your popup experiments under one roof, active, scheduled, or completed.
* **In-app analytics page.** Each test comes with visual metrics like opt-in rates, conversion rates, and revenue per visitor.
* **Variant comparison and funnel view.** See how each popup performs across the full funnel, from impression to conversion.
* **Quick search and filters.** Easily locate specific tests by name or status.
* **Smart ordering.** Tests are sorted active, scheduled, then ended, making it easy to track what is live.

### Where to find it

Head to your Recart dashboard, Opt-in Tools, Popup A/B Tests. This is your new command center for analyzing what drives the highest engagement and revenue from your popups.

## Improved Bot Click Filtering: Human-Only CTRs Are Here

![Improved Bot Click Filtering](https://791907572-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fg9BL9jmM4rBr3YI5Ck5J%2Fuploads%2FmCcPdwi2pvc3RLs4UEAf%2Fimg-bot-click-filtering-1.png?alt=media)

At Recart, we are always working behind the scenes to improve data accuracy and performance tracking. This update makes your click-through rates more reliable than ever.

### What happened

Since mid-September, we noticed unusual spikes in CTRs on both campaign and automated SMS messages. These jumps were tied to increased bot activity, mainly AI and LLM crawler bots, part of a broader trend as bots evolve and mimic human behavior more closely. The same anomalies affected most ecosystems, including Shopify Analytics, GA4, and HubSpot tracking.

### The fix

We rolled out a new bot filtering solution using **Cloudflare active detection**. Unlike static methods, it identifies and filters out bots in real time, with 99.9% accuracy. CTR levels returned to expected benchmarks as of October 6.

### Why this matters

* **Accurate click reporting.** Your CTRs reflect actual human engagement again, excluding bot traffic.
* **Better alignment with Shopify and GA4.** Recart's click figures are now even closer to your everyday analytics.
* **Smarter bot defense.** As bots keep evolving, active detection keeps your click stats clean.

You may notice CTRs are now 10 to 20% lower than in the past couple of weeks. That is expected, and a good sign: the data you see is now bot-free and more trustworthy.

## Messenger Sunset

![Messenger Sunset](https://791907572-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fg9BL9jmM4rBr3YI5Ck5J%2Fuploads%2Fwtc2EkcbvzEOYSKsMJMe%2Fimg-messenger-sunset-1.png?alt=media)

Facebook Messenger has been fully sunset across all Recart accounts. Ongoing platform and policy restrictions from Meta made continued Messenger support unsustainable, so popups and automated flows now run on SMS and email only.

### What's new

* Messenger has been removed from all Recart accounts, including Messenger-based opt-in steps and flows.
* Opt-in popups now collect subscribers through email and SMS.
* There are no further charges related to Messenger.

### Why it matters

* Your program now runs entirely on the channels that drive the strongest engagement and ROI.
* If you used Messenger-based flows, our team can help you review and update your setup so no subscriber journeys are left behind.

## Texas SMS Rule Clarification: Consent-Based Programs Can Resume Sending

![Texas SMS Rule Clarification](https://791907572-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fg9BL9jmM4rBr3YI5Ck5J%2Fuploads%2FdEWHqdAd1x9wkHhPS1Cr%2Fimg-texas-sms-clarification-1.png?alt=media)

Good news, consent-based SMS programs like Recart's can resume sending to Texas.

Following recent developments in the SB140 court case, the Texas Attorney General has clarified that **SMS messages sent with the recipient's consent do not fall under the state's new telephone solicitation law**. If your brand uses Recart's consent-first opt-in tools, you are in the clear.

### What is new

* In a recent court filing, the Texas Attorney General stated that consented messages are excluded from SB140's restrictions
* This aligns with how Recart merchants operate, every SMS is sent with prior express written consent
* No registration is needed for consent-based marketing programs under the current interpretation

### What this means for you

* If you paused sending to Texas, you can now turn it back on
* If you would like us to review your flows, segments, or quiet hours, just reach out

The legal case around SB140 is still ongoing, and a court hearing is scheduled for November. While this update is not formal guidance, it provides strong practical assurance that you are operating compliantly under current law.

## iOS 26: What's Actually Changing (and What You Should Do)

![iOS 26 Changes](https://791907572-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fg9BL9jmM4rBr3YI5Ck5J%2Fuploads%2FDPwC9YLTNLMpMia1HJqR%2Fimg-ios-26-changes-1.png?alt=media)

As Apple rolls out **iOS 26**, many headlines are overstating the impact on SMS marketing. Here is a quick, clear breakdown of what is changing, and how Recart helps you stay ahead.

### What is actually changing

* **Unknown sender filtering.** Opt-in only, adoption remains low, minimal impact expected.
* **Notification summaries.** Apple may remove brand names from message previews, minor copy adjustments can preserve visibility.
* **UTM stripping.** No effect on SMS links, this only applies to Safari browsing.
* **Full-screen popups on Safari.** Apple's new Liquid Glass design breaks full-screen modals, and Recart has already shipped an update.

### What you should do

* **Test notification copy.** Experiment with your first-line messaging to help maintain visibility in notification summaries.
* **Add a contact card.** Include a contact card in your welcome and checkout flows so your messages appear trusted, not unknown. This improves deliverability and future-proofs your program.
* **Monitor performance.** Continue sending as usual, and keep an eye on open and click metrics to flag any unusual shifts early.

## Klaviyo Integration Just Got Deeper

![Klaviyo, connected deeper.](https://791907572-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fg9BL9jmM4rBr3YI5Ck5J%2Fuploads%2FRgAcwvlBhhmwtXjvwHWJ%2Fimg-klaviyo-integration-deeper-1.png?alt=media)

### What is included in this update

* **OAuth connection**, no more manual API keys
* **Subscriber syncing**, emails and phone numbers flow directly into your Klaviyo list
* **Klaviyo segments in Recart**, use synced segments for SMS targeting and flow logic
* **Daily segment syncs** with a manual resync option

## New Texas SMS Law May Affect Your Marketing

![New Texas SMS Law](https://791907572-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fg9BL9jmM4rBr3YI5Ck5J%2Fuploads%2Fc8v8vxrDnIzlwa2clDYC%2Fimg-texas-sms-law-1.png?alt=media)

Starting September 1, 2025, SMS marketers targeting Texas must comply with new legal requirements.

**Update, October 2, 2025:** The Texas Attorney General has clarified that SMS messages sent with prior consent are not covered by SB140. See our follow-up note for details.

Texas passed Senate Bill 140 (SB140), extending the state's telephone solicitation rules to include SMS marketing. This may require your business to register as a telemarketer with the Texas Secretary of State, especially if you send to Texas-based phone numbers or operate out of Texas.

### What is included in this update

* **New legal requirement** for SMS marketing under Texas Business and Commerce Code section 302
* **Mandatory registration** for many businesses by September 1, 2025
* **Potential fines of up to $5,000** per unauthorized message sent
* **Exemptions** for nonprofits, restaurants, and long-standing retail businesses, with conditions
* **Tools in Recart** to help you locate your business address and sending number for verification

This update does not change Recart's opt-in or message-sending processes, we remain fully TCPA-compliant. However, business registration requirements like SB140 are your legal responsibility as the sender.

## Capture Subscriber Preferences from the Teaser Step

We have just made it easier to learn more about your visitors, from the very first click. You can now add **button groups** to the **Teaser step** of your Recart popups. Instead of a single Confirm button, you can give visitors multiple clickable options, letting them choose what they are most interested in before they opt in.

Whether it is **product type**, **gender**, **discount preference**, or any other trait, this feature helps you capture relevant data early, without disrupting the opt-in flow.

### Why this matters

Asking simple questions like What are you shopping for today, or Which offer do you prefer, right in the teaser builds **early engagement** and unlocks **better targeting** later.

### What you can do with it

* **Customize your teaser** with multiple CTAs (like Men's and Women's, or 10% Off and Free Shipping)
* **Learn user intent upfront**, before they enter their phone number
* **Track responses** as subscriber data for future flows and campaigns
* **Style and configure easily**, no code required

![Teaser button groups in the opt-in tool editor](https://791907572-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fg9BL9jmM4rBr3YI5Ck5J%2Fuploads%2F4mTEOLkh1wzUNILDlhUm%2Fimg-teaser-preferences-1.png?alt=media)

Every button tap counts as a teaser confirmation, and the selected preference is saved to that subscriber's profile, so you can use it later to personalize your messaging. The editor gives full control over styling: font, button color, border radius, drop shadow, and more, so it fits seamlessly into your brand.
{% endupdate %}

{% update date="2025-06-17" tags="New Feature" %}

## Iterable Integration

![Iterable Integration](https://791907572-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fg9BL9jmM4rBr3YI5Ck5J%2Fuploads%2FNpnr7xRy22DvPOmA8pMJ%2Fimg-iterable-integration-1.png?alt=media)

Recart now connects natively to Iterable, so the subscribers you capture through your opt-in tools flow straight into your Iterable account.

### What's new

* Connect Iterable to Recart using an Iterable API key.
* Automatically sync the email addresses and phone numbers of your subscribers into the Iterable list you choose.
* Manage the connection from your integration settings, toggling it on or off or removing it whenever you need.

### Why it matters

* Keep your email and SMS platform fed with Recart-collected subscribers, with no manual CSV exports.
* New opt-ins are ready for your Iterable campaigns and flows as soon as they subscribe.
  {% endupdate %}

{% update date="2025-02-13" tags="Compliance" %}

## Call Forwarding Now Available in Recart

![Call Forwarding](https://791907572-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fg9BL9jmM4rBr3YI5Ck5J%2Fuploads%2FRKxcfTSZRhDMKO6jaB9l%2Fimg-call-forwarding-1.png?alt=media)

To meet U.S. Mini-TCPA regulations and TCPA guidelines, all SMS marketing numbers must be callable. With this update, Recart now supports **built-in call forwarding** for all SMS accounts, including shortcodes.

### What is included in this update

* **Automatic call forwarding** from Toll-Free Numbers to your company phone number
* **Shortcode routing via TFNs** for voice compliance in all supported countries
* **New Call Forwarding settings** in-app under SMS Settings
* **Required call forwarding field**, use your company phone or set a custom number
* **Updated HELP keyword behavior** to include the new contact number
* **New contact number variable** auto-added to Help Flows sent from shortcodes

By default, Recart uses the company phone number listed in your General Settings, but you can change this at any time. If you use a shortcode, Recart automatically routes calls through a TFN to keep you compliant.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.recart.com/whats-new/2025-product-updates.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
