Quiet hours
Quiet hours prevent subscribers from receiving promotional text messages during a specified time frame, usually at night. Texts will be queued and sent out once quiet hours are over. Quiet hours work based on your subscriber's time zone. If we were not able to record the subscriber's time zone, the store's timezone will be applied. Recommended quiet hours are from 9 PM until 9AM.
Messages that are being sent during Quiet hours: Welcome, Help, Receipt and the follow-up messages of Abandoned Cart reminders and Campaigns.
Messages that are being postponed if they are sent during Quiet hours: Fulfilment, Abandoned Cart reminders and Campaigns.
Smart sending
Smart sending makes sure you do not send promotional text messages too often to your subscribers. These texts will not be sent. You can set Smart sending between 0-168 hours. We'd recommend 8 hours as your Smart sending period, which means that after receiving a promotional SMS the user won't get a new message for 8 hours.
Messages that are being sent even if the Smart sending timeframe is active: Welcome, Help, Receipt, Fulfilment, and the follow-up messages of Abandoned Cart reminders and Campaigns.
Welcome and Help will not activate the Smart sending timeframe, meaning promotional messages can be sent after these messages.
Receipt, Fulfilment and and the follow-up messages of Abandoned Cart reminders and Campaigns will activate the Smart sending timeframe, meaning promotional messages are not being sent after these messages.
Messages that are not being sent if the Smart sending timeframe is active:
First messages of Campaigns and Abandoned cart reminders.
You can set up Quiet hours and Smart sending on the SMS Settings Page - Sending settings section.
